After having collaborated with the fantastic double bass player Florentin Ginot since 2021, first in a project with Ensemble MusikFabrik, then a duo project at Muse-en-Circuit in Paris, and later a video project, Situations, I finally had the opportunity to compose a solo compositions for Florentin, in which his ever-growing arsenal of FX pedals could be put to use. To the bone became an intense 25-minute piece in which Florentin's augmented double bass moves back and forth between utmost fragility and body-shaking vibrations. It doesn't only draw on my experiences working together with Florentin, but also on my many collaborations with the Belgian improvising double-bass giant Peter Jacquemyn.

The premiere took place at Concertgebouw Brugge on the 28th of February 2026, and the second performance will happen at the Frequenz Festival on the 11th of May 2026 in Kiel, Germany - both are co-commissioners for this work!
